What we collect

• Public story content you submit or that we ingest from public feeds.
• Lookup inputs for claim files (story id or URL) when you or ChatGPT call our MCP / API.
• Account email if you sign in (Clerk) or subscribe.
• Payment metadata via Stripe if you buy membership or contribute — not full card numbers on our servers.
• Standard server and security logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for abuse prevention and reliability.

Cookies, ads, and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies (including web beacons and device identifiers) to run the site, measure traffic, and show ads.

• Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-4846670348431065) may place and read cookies or use advertising identifiers to serve and personalize ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud. Third parties, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies as a result of ad serving on this site.
• How Google uses data when you use partner sites: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• You can opt out of personalized Google ads via Google Ads Settings.
• When enabled, Ezoic and its consent / analytics partners (including Gatekeeper CMP) may set cookies and process usage data for ads, consent management, and site optimization. Their tools appear only when that integration is turned on.
• Session and auth cookies from Clerk if you sign in; payment-related cookies from Stripe during checkout.

ChatGPT / OpenAI plugin

The MCP tool get_claim_file returns published stamp data for the id or URL you provide. We do not use ChatGPT conversation text beyond that request. No auth is required for public claim lookups.

Children

FinchFile is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Retention and requests

Account and payment records are kept as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Published stamps are editorial records and may remain public. To request deletion of account-linked personal data, email hello@finchfile.com.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell personal data. We don’t sell desk stamps.
